9. Betreutes Wohnen im Kontext gerontologischer Theorien

Zusammenfassung

Betrachtet man Betreutes Wohnen im Kontext etablierter gerontologischer Theorien, so zeigt sich, dass es diesen nur bedingt entspricht. Es lässt sich weder als eine Institution für aktives Altern noch als eine Institution für Disengagement verstehen. Vielmehr ist es darauf ausgerichtet, dass seine Bewohner ihre individuelle Balance zwischen Aktivität und Disengagement finden können. Dies setzt allerdings voraus, dass sie bei bestehendem Betreuungs- oder Pflegebedarf die Tendenz, sich selbst zu behaupten und Kontrolle über Pflege- oder Betreuungspersonen auszuüben, mit einer Tendenz zur Rücksichtnahme auf deren Bedürfnisse in Übereinklang bringen. Pflege- und Betreuungspersonen auf der anderen Seite müssen für eine ausgewogene Betreuung ihre Tendenz zur Fürsorge mit einer den Betreuungsempfänger gewähren lassenden Nachlässigkeit und ihre Tendenz zur Selbstbehauptung mit einer Tendenz zur Rücksichtnahme auf seine Selbstbestimmung in Übereinklang bringen. Die Einstellungen der Pflege- und Betreuungspersonen und -empfänger bedingen sich gegenseitig und ihre Beziehung hängt von persönlichen Voraussetzung und Umständen sowie von institutionellen Rahmenbedingungen ab.
