10. Anorexia nervosa im Kindes- und Jugendalter

Zusammenfassung

In diesem Kapitel wird auf Definition, Epidemiologie, Symptomatologie und Komorbidität der kindlichen und adoleszenten Anorexia nervosa eingegangen. Bezüglich der Klassifikation werden die Schwierigkeiten, die durch die alterstypische Symptomatik bedingt sind, erläutert und die Problematik des Gewichtsschwellenwertes diskutiert. Erste Symptome, die auf eine beginnende Essstörung hindeuten, sowie besonders gefährdende Verhaltensweisen der kindlichen Anorexia nervosa sollten besonders beachtet werden. Hierbei wird vor allem auf somatische Folgeschäden, z. B. für die Knochen- und Hirnentwicklung, hingewiesen. Die Abklärung in diesem Lebensalter ist nicht immer einfach; die wichtigsten Differenzialdiagnosen und somatischen Komorbiditäten wie z. B. der Diabetes werden beschrieben und die altersspezifischen Besonderheiten im Verlauf der Erkrankungen aufgezeigt.
